Dawn Meehan, Survivor South Pacific

Dawn Meehan is a cast member from Survivor South Pacific. She's is also a wife and mother of six children (all beautiful and all adopted!).

Dawn has been a die-hard fan of Survivor since the show began airing. She first auditioned for Season 2: Australia and 3-4 subsequent times before making it to the island to play. Once in the game, Dawn proved herself to be an asset to her tribe, Savaii. A strong physical competitor, Dawn helped her tribe win immunity and reward (chickens) in a critical weight lifting challenge, and also won individual immunity after the merge. At age 40, Dawn was one of the older women in the game, however, she quickly bonded with her tribe and was well-known for her positive point-of-view.

Despite losing her duel at Redemption Island on Day 28 in the game--Dawn's Survivor experience was, indeed, life-changing.

"Most people never get there. They're afraid or unwilling to demand enough of themselves and take the easy road, the path of least resistance. But struggling and suffering, as I now saw it, were the essence of a life worth living. If you're not pushing yourself beyond the comfort zone, if you're not constantly demanding more from yourself--expanding and learning as you go--you're choosing a numb existence. You're denying yourself and extraordinary trip. Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out ... loudly proclaiming: "WOW! What a ride!"

Currently a motivational speaker and professor of English at Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, Dawn enjoys spending time with her kids (ages 8-16) and her husband/best friend of 20 years, Dave. Together, they are doing they're best to challenge themselves, grow, and live a life filled with purpose and JOY!
